Each season, I go to Alaska. I’m gone for 5 ½ months, and sometimes weeks with no connection. My two young daughters are at home. I’ve recorded all the books for them, (and they have for me too!) Before they go to bed they can have me read them a story. Before I loose connection, I listen to how well they are learning to read. We are there for each other, still connected.

The 2nd most traumatic event in a child’s life is the first time they are left alone. The Who are You, story prepares the child for this event and reassures them that Mom and Dad will be there for them after work!! A Stellar Book! I love that my child can play this recording and hear my voice reading a story to her.

My little preschooler doesn’t care for books, but after reading the book, From Tree to Twelve, she said, Read it again, Mom!” Numbers identified with objects that the child knows is truly a beautiful teaching moment!
I gladly leave 5 Stars for the book and another 5 for the artwork!!!

I work 2 month shifts on an offshore platform. We have satellite provided by the company. Often my hours don’t coincide with my family’s. My son loves to hear me read a story before he goes to bed. Dr Qooz has made it possible for me to be there for him anytime, even though I’m out on the rig. It has really helped our situation of being apart.

I loved reading and recording the first book for children that I have found that doesn’t promote the monsters, zombies and boogers the child deals with in her “going to Sleep state”. No promoting lies or telling lies about fictitious creatures, Dr. Qooz just gives support and positive confirmations. A great book that my little girl said read it again Daddy, I’m not scared anymore! When my job takes me on the road, my children play my voice reading them this story…

Twice a year I have to go to a corporate conference. It is either in New York or Chicago. I’m gone from home six days. My 5 year-old misses me tremendously when I’m gone. I sat down with her and recorded each of Dr Qooz’ books. She turned the pages as I read. Now when I’m gone, she gets her book out and has mommy read, via the recording. She told me on the phone it was just like I was home reading to here before bedtime!

I’ve already had one deployment of 90 days. My next one coming up will be 15 months. The first time my wife and I were separated was difficult. It is hard on our first grader too. This time we have made Dr Qooz recordings to be prepared for bedtime stories. In one story, my wife and I alternated, each reading a page as we went along. When we listened to the completed soundtrack, my son was thrilled with us ‘taking turns.’ I believe this is going to greatly help all of us get through my ‘being gone.’
